Lucie has studied English Literature at Trent University in Ontario, Spanish language and Literature at Universidad de Granada in Spain, and Fine Art at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Alberta. She has been granted The Mentor Artist-Educator Certificate from Learning Through the Arts from The Royal Conservatory of Music. She also studied Shamanic Healing through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. She has recently completed Therapeutic Arts Practitioner Studies Certificate Program through the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy, as well as Trauma informed Care (TIC) through AHS

Her studies in Literature and Language, Art and Design, Shamanism and Healing come together to inform her work as a Professional Visual Artist and Educator. International travel has been an important part of Lucie’s studies, cultural experiences and artistic influences. Her personal and professional projects have led her to travel and explore many places in the world, including the Andes, the Arctic and the Amazon.

Lucie’s main home base has been in the Canadian Rocky Mountains since 1989. She has been specifically inspired by the mountains and Nature since then. Her stylized paintings have been in numerous group and solo art exhibitions throughout the province of Alberta. She has received commissions from the Town of Canmore and The Albertan Foundation for the Arts to create several public art works, including paintings, a road mural and two large-scale interactive sculptures. She has received art grants and awards and has participated in several artist residencies as well as a group public art installation called Art in Nature in Banff in summer 2021 and 2022.

Lucie’s artwork is inspired by Nature. Patterns, cycles and rhythms in Nature on micro and macro levels inspire and inform her work and life. She is also passionate about exploring the connections between creativity, art-making and healing, and sharing these opportunities in community. She is an enthusiastic and insightful group facilitator who designs and delivers fun and creative art-based sessions and workshops for public and private groups for children, youth and adults.
